Welcome to Jim's Lake Information Site! Minimize

The purpose of this site is to provide information for the state cabin on Jim's Lake, which is located on Admiralty Island in Alaska, along with pictures and video of our visit to this lovely cabin in September 2008.

In September 2008, we took a trip to Admiralty Island, Alaska, and stayed in a cabin on a lake with no civilization around for miles. Our Cabin had a wood stove, four bunks, and a table--no running water (we had to boil it or purify it from the lake), no cell phones, and certainly no electricity. Jim's Lake offers complete isolation from the outside world, and provides a peaceful place to just get away from the distractions of life.

We were there for one week, and had the time of our lives.  With complete isolation from the outside world, we were able to relax, fish, hike, chat, read the Bible, and grow closer to each other and to God.  Every morning, my Uncle Wayne brought a devotion on "Character Traits we are to Possess as Children of the Most High God."  Each morning, he would focus on a single trait and expound on its importance and function in the lives of believers.  Every evening, we had devotions, rotated by myself, my brother Clint, and my dad Buck.  They were laid out as follows:

Tuesday Night - "Survival" - How do you survive as a Christian in a pagan world?
Wednesday Night - "Mediocrity" - Are you content with mediocrity?
Thursday Night - "Wild Berries" - What type of fruit do you produce?
Friday Night - "Nutrition" - What does your spritual diet consist of?
Saturday Night - "Equipped" - Are you properly equipped?
Sunday Night - "The Rescue" - Are you ready to be rescued?

We had a great time, and please check back often, as I will be updating with more pictures, videos, and diolog of our journey.

Josh
